WACC leaders to receive honorary doctorates
CHENNAI, India (APEN) – Leaders of a global communication organization will receive the degree of Doctor of Divinity (Honoris Causa) for their contribution to church and society.

Mr. Denis Alan Smith, president and Reverend Randy Naylor, general secretary of the World Association of Christian Communication (WACC) have been named for the honour by the Academy of Ecumenical Indian Theology and Church Administration based here in the Gurukul Lutheran Theological College and Research Institute.

Toronto-headquartered WACC, founded in 1950, is an international ecumenical organization that promotes communication rights for social change.

The honorary degree will be conferred on WACC leaders at the Lutheran theological college’s 21st convocation to be held here on 6 August.

It is indeed an honour to give them the degree for their eminent and dedicated contributions to the communication ministry, said Reverend Samuel Meshack, principal of the Serampore University-affiliated Gurukul Theological College.

It is one of India’s pioneering theological institutions for communication education.
